The Whelby Oil and Gas Data Services was the first product line developed by Micotan. The goal was to provide daily well activity information to the oil & gas producers and service companies in a very cost-effective and timely manner so that our clients focus on results and not data gathering.
Each day, information is retrieved from a number of sources including web sites, publications, individual companies, and other sources of non-proprietary information and organized into the 'Hit Lists'. These Hit Lists represent collections of data from primary sources only (no 'second-hand' data) that is then delivered to the user.
The Whelby Decision Cube product was introduced to analyze Hit List collections. Not only can the user summarize current well activity information, but collections as far back as 2000 can be referenced for historical reviews and trend analysis.
And finally, the Whelby Spudables application was the first web-based solution that displayed 'spudable' wells (un-drilled new well licenses) along with the locations of current rigs on a map. Again, based on the Hit Lists, operators and service companies can now 'see' and optimize drilling activities.
