Drilling Rigs
Introduction
The power of Whelby Spudables is in its ability to position rigs on the map.  Using a variety of sources including the Whelby Hit Lists collection, non-proprietary drilling company records, and industry publications, Micotan is able to give you accurate and timely information on rig locations.

Whelby Spudables provides additional information for each rig as well.  Once a rig is displayed on the map, the user can retrieve additional information such as rig capacity (maximum depth) which enables the user to align rigs with spudable wells with their projected depths.
Displaying Rigs
You can display rigs on the map two different ways: by selecting rigs in a rig list or by choosing to display all rigs in your area of interest.  Depending on the method of displaying the rigs, different colours will used to distinguish between 'selected' and 'all' rigs.
Rig Lists
The interface of the Spudables WebApp includes three different rig lists that you can use to select and display rigs on the map.

The main All Rigs list displays all rigs in Western Canada.  The rigs are organized by drilling company in a tree that can be expanded and collapsed.  When you collapse the tree, you see a listing of all the drilling companies operating in Western Canada.  When you expand the tree for a specific drilling company, you will see all of the drilling rigs owned and operated by the company.

A second My Rigs list displays the rigs that you and/or your company have indicated to Micotan you would like to have available each time you run Spudables.  Micotan is able to select these rigs automatically for you from the All Rigs list so that you can be assured that you are seeing the rigs that are important to you.

The third and final rigs list, called Favorites, is one that you can use to track individual rigs.  The user interface provides you with the ability to add and remove rigs, so you can manage your own list to help with day-to-day work.
