Walter Semkuley is a co-founder of Micotan and has been its CEO since incorporation in 2002.  With over 35 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant, Walter brings a wealth of business experience and knowledge.

 

Walter started his career after graduating from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Commerce and Finance in 1969.  He first joined Thorne Riddell in Vancouver where he worked as an auditor and special investigator, and achieved his Charted Accountant designation in 1971.

 

After leaving Thorne Riddell in 1973, Walter was controller for a number of organizations for the next seven years  before moving to Calgary where he joined Dome Petroleum as a supervisor of the Natural Gas Liquids accounting department in 1980.

 

Walter returned to Vancouver in 1983 to start his own private accounting practice, and to start a number of new small business ventures that gave him a wealth of knowledge on developing successful companies.

 

In 2002, having returned to Calgary, Walter came out of retirement to co-found Micotan Software Company Ltd.  Today, as President of the company, he continues to apply his knowledge and experience to the development and growth of this exciting, entreprenurial company.
